The power of love must be evident in everything we do including relationships with
others and relationships with ourselves. Valentine's Day is a special day to celebrate
love, and self-love is just as important as loving others.
So today, begin by extending a little love to the most important person in your life...YOU!
Here are 10 Love Tips that you can add to your space to help with your
daily self-love journey…
A Love List:
Write down three things you're thankful for each day, no matter how small they may seem, or try one of the practices that I use: Wake up each morning and write down 10 things you are grateful for that have not yet occurred. Write them as if they have already happened - “I am so happy and grateful now that …” Then spend time visualizing, feeling the feelings, remaining open to receive...then watch the magic happen.
A Love Nook: Create a dedicated space in your home for quiet reflection and
relaxation. Fill it with comfortable seating, soft lighting, and inspiring books or
magazines.
A Love Garden: Adding some greenery to your home can boost your mood and
help you feel more connected to nature. Choose plants that have positive
associations and are known to have a calming effect. Remember to name them
and speak to them every morning & night.
A Love Kit: Curate a kit of items that help you practice self-care, such as bubble
bath, rich & creamy body washes, face masks, special bags of tea, emollient
body creams, or anything else that makes you feel good. Keep in a convenient
location so you can easily access it when you need it.
A Love Wall: Dedicate a wall in your home to hang pictures, posters, quotes or
affirmations that encourage self-reflection, mindfulness and love.
Love Lighting: Adjusting the lighting in your home can have a big impact on your
mood and well-being. Add dimmer switches, use lamps, or invest in smart bulbs
that allow you to control the lighting from your phone to create a warm, cozy
atmosphere.
A Love Soak: Invest in a luxurious bathtub or a spa-like shower to pamper
yourself and create a relaxing atmosphere in your bathroom.
A Love Scent: An aromatherapy diffuser and incorporating the use of essential
oils can be a simple way to promote relaxation and self-care. Use a diffuser to fill
your home with the scents of lavender, eucalyptus, or other oils that help to
soothe and calm the mind.
A Love Nest: Your bed is one of the most important places in your home, so
make sure it's comfortable and supportive. Invest in high-quality sheets, pillows,
and a mattress that allows you to get a good night's sleep and wake up feeling
refreshed and rejuvenated.
A Love Spot: Set up a quiet corner of your home where you can practice
meditation and yoga. Add a mat, some comfortable cushions, and perhaps a
calming piece of artwork to help you get into the right state of mind.
Added bonus - A Love Reflection: Hang a beautiful wall mirror in a place that you can
walk by daily and say “I love you” when you see your reflection. Look yourself in your
eyes, and feel the emotion.
Remember that self-love is a continuous
journey, and it's important to practice it every day, not just on Valentine's Day.
Create the changes in your home to invite love and to begin or continue your self-love journey.
Invest in yourself. Do the work. Here’s to 365 days of loving YOU!
